Tackling a Challenge

This past month has been incredibly productive on the flower farm. Mike and I took on the challenge of setting up a tunnel/greenhouse for the ranunculus and anemones. We had purchased a secondhand structure several months ago, and at the time, we figured if we could take it apart, how hard could it be to reassemble? Well, as anyone who has tried putting together a large structure without instructions (months later!) can tell you, it wasn’t as straightforward as we’d hoped—haha. It took longer than expected, but we were determined to see it through.

There was a bit of an injury along the way (I’ll spare you the photos)—a finger and a post pounder had an unfortunate encounter...ouch! Safe to say, we’re not in a hurry to buy another structure to assemble anytime soon.

Thankfully, the ranunculus and anemones we started indoors now have a cozy winter home in the tunnel (they won’t survive our winters without protection). They'll stay snug until spring, when they’ll bloom. Just look at these beauties—I can’t wait to have them brightening up the house in a few months and share them with all of you!

What’s happening at the stand right now? The season is wrapping up this weekend and Sunday will be last day the stand is open until we do evergreen arrangements in December. We are offering several different dried lavender products and fresh bunches of eucalyptus.

Dried Lavender Dried Lavender carries such a lovely smell and provides beauty long after flower season has ended. Its perfect for crafts, potpourri, decor and anywhere you'd like the smell lavender. A gentle wave or touch releases the soothing scent of lavender.

Eucalyptus Eucalyptus adds elegance to any bouquet, one of my favorite uses is hanging a bundle in the shower. When the hot steam hits, it releases a refreshing, spa-like fragrance—perfect for creating a little at-home relaxation.
